One bad mistake a developer can make is to think that every map has to have the same tileset. I tried creating a simple classroom, but the standard tilesets aren't that good for something like that. but each map can have its own tileset, and I cant think of a map that needs more variance - you just have to frankentile different sheets together to have those tiles you need for a specific map, while removing those you dont need. One thing that surprises me is that I'm not able to find furniture that's facing to the left or right, at least not the furniture I need. They will appear as is: they don't make groups or animate. Greenish yellow tiles can be used for everything.Make sure that you use them in 3x4 arrays! They can also have the Square passability mark, which can't be used in the rest. The tilesheets for all makers beginning with VX (and that includes MV) have fixed sizes and require specific tiles at specific positions in case of autotiles (A-sheets) Anything outside that fixed size (which is for example 16x16 tiles of 48x48 pixels for B to E tilesheets, and different formats for the A sheets) is simply ignored and cannot be used. Green and gray tiles are for floor textures, woods, mountains or lakes.Dark blue tiles are animated each animation covers one column (4 squares 4 frames).Building on these, I will design small-ish 'rooms', following a more specific theme. The basis for this will be a modern interior set for a typical home, Inluding A tiles and a B and C tileset with basic furniture and clutter.
